Roasting Dilema's

One of our favorite summer activities is roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over a fire.  This round, John was trying to burn a stump from a tree we had torn down a few years ago.

 Karl & Sarah were trying to lay flat to beat the heat.

 Rachel didn't care, she figured burn it and eat it.

 Hyrum though, got a bit creative with beating the heat.

 He found a mask to wear!

But he loves his marshmallows!

Karl Birthday

For Karl's Birthday, his Grandpa took him fishing.  He was super excited and became "Monkey boy" on his dad!

 And then he climbed in with Grandma and Grandpa and left with no cake or anything.  I didn't see him for 2 days

Tree

We are at my mom's for a Sunday afternoon.  The kids are outside playing in the front yard.  I hear this blood curling scream that I recognize as Karl.  I run out side and see my worst nightmare.  Karl is at the bottom of the tree holding a bloody nose.  He loves to climb the tree as far up as he can go, so the near fact that he is sitting up means he didn't fall that far!  As I help him clean up the blood, I realize that the blood is not coming from inside his nose, but the outside.  So I finally slow down enough to ask what happened...

They were playing tag (not climbing the tree).  Karl was crouched over enough to give him a good speed when he turned around to run away from the person who was "it."  So "it" is coming, so he turns to run away and....hits the tree as he was standing right in front of it, but didn't realize it.

We stopped laughing, well actually every time I tell the story or think about it, I start to laugh again.  It's hilarious!

And the Piano Came Home

After getting the dust to settle around the house in all our moving things around.  Our piano finally "came home".  It took us a while to figure out the best location in the room, but we are pretty happy with the results.  We started by taking pictures of the room from various angles...

 Then it finally hit us...and horray it fits and it's really really nice

 With room to spare!

Then I was able to unpack my boxes

 And clean up under the cabinet

And the kids were very anxious to be on it again!

Karl Cleaning

This guy will more often than not see a need and get it done.  Especially if he has seen that I've had a yucky day.  He is also very camera shy, so I don't get many chances of seeing his face.

Best Friends

I have worried that my 2 boys would one day start the typical fighting that I got from my girls.  They do have their ups and downs, but generally they have more ups then downs.  It makes me one happy momma to find them playing together and making the most of the simple things.

It is amazing how a simple box can turn into a car that they cruise around town in!

Thanksgiving

We had a nice quite time with Jeanette and her Family.  We were so glad to have the time with her.  It made the holidays so much nicer with family.
